Old School finds 6.26.09

Went out to the old school by me today for about an hour and a half. Was hot and humid!! Out of my first five targets three were coins. Me and my ACE 250 are becoming great buds. I was very happy about that!! I found 3 Wheaties 1930, 1939, 1940. 1 nickel 1943, and a machine tag from the Hershey Industrial school. Found about 10 other targets. Enjoy the pic. what you have i do believe is a tag from milton hershey school it was once known as an industrial school

Was that Hershey Industrial School one of the so-called Indian Schools back in the late 1800s / early 1900s ? I have a book that was written by an Apache man in which he told how he was a cousin of Geronimo and went with him the last 3 times he left the reservation for Mexico. This man was a young teenager at that time and was sent from Ft. Sill, OK to a school in Pennsylvania where he was taught a trade. That was the first time in his life he wore real shoes. I believe the school was located somewhere in the Harrisburg area. He wrote about how he and all the other young Indian boys and girls were sent to those schools to learn trades and get "civilized".

Yes I do believe that it is from the Hershey school. That is what I was thinking. The school I am hunting closed it's doors in the mid 60's and was purchased by a local resident. The school had a bad fire either late 60's or early 70's and I am told that all the machinery was moved "out back" and sold or scraped. I found the tag out back. A little history as was told to me by current resident who has granted me permission to hunt the property!! Thanks to all for looking and info on all my finds.

I am still new to this hobbie and learning everyday!!!!
