Hey guys, I found this object at an old school that dates back to 1918. Any ideas what it could be? 20200225_125036.jpg20200225_125042.jpg

I'll guess a end cap for a wagon wheel axle

Is that a little pipe bent over on the top?

Maybe part of an air purge valve from a cast iron radiator/heater?

It reminds me of old automotive type thermostat (or a thermostatic switch maybe)... does the inside part have a spring behind it if you push on it?

That's it.
I couldn't place it. Late 60's, early 70's?

Nice job Benz.

I just wanted to say I laughed at title of the thread, and thought it was pretty clever. I clicked expecting to find out what detectorists consider "old-school" but it turns out it was a target from a school that happens to be old. Loved it. :laughing7:

Vintage light bulb socket?

If that is a tube or air line that has been bent over and full of crud in the first picture, I would guess that it is an automotive vacuum switch.

Like from an EGR valve or a choke pull-off...
