Got out to an absolutely pounded school/church site with Gonebeeping, Ed from Treasure Mountain Metal Detectors and JD from JD's Variety Channel on YouTube.

JD was swinging the T2 SE. The rest of us were swinging the XP Deus. I have the Deus Lite.

Ed picked up a Buff and a 1906 V Nick that had been on a chain. Gonebeeping picked up 2 Buffs, a war nickel and a 1904 V Nick, his first V.
I got a slick Buff and a 1937 D Buff plus 7 other nickels including 2 x 1941 and a 1946.

JD was late to the party and got a 1941 Jefferson and a bunch of other nickels.

Ed and Gonebeeping left and JD and I got in a door knock. At the door knock I picked up a 1936 Buff, a 1901 Indian that was holed and my find of the day...a really nice heel plate with heart shape.

After the door knock we went back to the school to get JDs vehicle and he picked up 2 deep Mercs in the gravel just outside the parking area! I hate that guy, lol.

Just cleaned out the finds pouch from the hunt and found a few more relics.

Any thoughts on the bullet as to age?

Very cool hunt

Thanks for the comments everybody. I knew the heel plate would be a winner. Only the second one I've found. Just like the first one.

Nice digs! Quite a tribe you got going there, congrats and HH

That heel plate is civil war issued military. Each regiment had their own. I have found 2 of those exact plates before. There are many sites like this and more on ebay. Dug Civil War Brass 24th Corp Union Soldiers Heart Insignia Boot Heel Plate

They sell for a lot even in dug condition. You can google Civil War Heart Heel Plate and see a lot more. Nice dig!

Thanks for the info. This one was recovered in a town that saw some civil war activity.
