Old Scabbard

[Woodland Detectors]

Found in the woods near my war of 1812 buttons last year, I'm stumped on this one.
Is it possibly an old sword scabbard?

Not a scabbard. Certainly not.

It could be the top of a Texas plate (although it looks too long)


But in all likelihood it is just a scrap of brass.

Could be kettle scrap. Pretty common on Native sites.
