My buddy and I headed out this morning to do a little MDing when we met a woman hurding her cows down a road and across a small river. We talked for a while and she showed us the bridge she uses to cross the river and invited us to try it out. This is without a doubt the freekiest suspended bridge I have ever crossed, actually I only went about a third of the way when the cracking of the rotten planks made me think better of what I was doing.:tongue3: My buddy made it about the same distance.

Cool old bridge, nice picture.

Dang, don't look like that bridge has any handrails! I might crawl across it. :)
There is one wire rope rail on the left side and it is really slack. I think it's just there for moral support.

What would be interesting to find out is who built it and why (other than to get to the other side, thank you).
Don........
The famer has a rope that runs parrallel to the river. It is attached to two more cables at either ends that run across the river and is used to come behind the cattle to usher the stragglers to the other side. The famer crosses the bridge and pulls the rope along with her. She takes them over to the pasture in the morning and brings them back in the evening. A really brave woman, I never did ask her if she has ever fallen in.
