Written below is the response to a question on a similar appearing coin (at this website):
http://www.coinsite.com/content/cdanswers/cdarchive60.asp

This coin (the one on the right two photos) may be a modern replica of a 165 AD Rome (Imp III, PARTH MAX), Lucius Verus (161-169) Sestertius. The style and design may not be 'of the period' and may be a fantasy as no known coin of Lucius Verus has these design characteristics.

That author continues:

"I see that this token (like yours) has been holed and repaired. I'll guess that this piece was part of a jewelry creation that has been separated from the rest of its parts."

I believe the coin on the left (in each frame) depicts the river god, Gelas (the forepart of a bearded man-headed bull), but I've only seen coins with Gelas facing right, not left--so I'm of no help to you there. The reverse of that 'coin' seems to show two fish, one on each side of a barley stem.

Ok, I'll start.

How can you tell from a picture? :laughing7: :laughing7:

Now I'll wait for the flood of "it couldn't possibly be real if it was found here in the US, unless someone who had a collection dropped it"

Nice Answer to the question posted Mac  it's good that you spent some time responding in the correct way..Hat's of to you :icon_thumleft:

Right Item appears to be a Cast Tourist Fake of a AE medallion or sestertius of Lucius Verus. Cast in base metal 39mm, 18.73g...(check dia)
obv: L VERVS AVG ARM PARTH MAX TR P VIIII draped, laur. bust of Verus, r.
rev: fast quadriga, left, COS II SC in exe.

The outher coin appears to be a copy of a A bronze AE23 of Oiniadai in Akarnania Horned, bearded head of the river god Acheloos, but I could only find a coin with a right facing bust..so :dontknow:

Hope this helps a bit :icon_thumleft:
