Hi Everyone , I found this ring back in 1999. Me and a buddy were hunting a picket post site out side of Calhoun,Ga. The main confed camp wasn't far away. We found numerous bullets and I found my first 2 buttons there. I also found this ring there. Can anybody tell if it is civil war or what time period I am looking at here? It is plated with either white gold or silver, and has hints of yellow gold that I hadn't seen till I got it back out a few minutes ago for pics. Not sure really about civil war rings if they did plateing back then. I have seen the usual wedding band found in camps, and a couple of patriotic rings, but really not sure if they went to this extent. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Jonathon

Bummer no markings... I see flaking? If it's plated I guess it may still be a wedding ring - a cheapy. Still a very cool find...

I'd feel comfy considering it an early 1900s ring. It might be older... I hope someone else can help you figure it out.

I believe this type of ring, was referred to as a "friendship ring" I have found many of this and other designs. They were popular in the 30,s 40,s and early 50,s. I have never heard them referred to as wedding rings. Which dosen't mean anything. I started hunting back in the early 60,s and I hunted a lot of yards. I would find 15 or 20 a year.

"may there always be a road"
