old ration tin recovered from the lava beds Modoc War 1870's ?

I was told this old ration tin was recovered from the lava beds where the Modoc War was fought back in the 1870's era

does it look like an antique ration tin?

It does look like a rations tin... I find many like that in my hunting spots... all post CW (1860-1890) infantry areas loading with similar tins in the trash pits and dumps.

When "Plehbah" returns to treasure net after his trip he may be able to assist further... he's knowledgable of these things...
