Went out Sunday for a few hours to a spot I have been before. Years ago it was an old mining town near Mariposa , California but today a private property which the owner allows me to hit anytime I want. Usually I find a lot of iron junk going back to the 1840's to 1930's gold rush, because of the great depression, many came and grubbed for gold to feed themselves. I decided to take my MXT with the 5.3 eclipse coil and detect around large rock formations and out croppings. I came to a spot where I would think someone would rest for a while, I wedged my small coil in between two large rocks and got a good signal, digging down expecting more iron trash out came my first powder flask ! It's a bit flat but has a beautifulll stamp on it. Good Hunting to you all... :icon_thumleft:

That is beautiful. Congratulations on that find. Very nice.

Obviously a scarce find, as you don't see them posted, so pretty cool even a little flatened.

Funny that you found it with your 5.3 coil on your MXT.
The only one I ever found was with the same set-up right under some pine needles.
I gave my flask to the homeowner along with some other finds as a thank you
for letting me hunt their property. (55 acre farm settled in the 1690's they owned since the 1950's).
I'm the only one who ever detected there.
Iv'e been hunting there for four years and always come home with something good.

thats a great find
took me a couple of days but i located mine
i found this in Nevada, Austin
