I wish I was your Mate, Mate ;D
You are certainly finding some interesting stuff :headbang:

I shall attempt to thrash Google until it spits out the name of your crockery find.

At first glance, the Mark might be the top of a vase or amphora - but if you stare too long at it, it becomes the face of a teddy bear :laughing7:

Mike (sober)

Edit - maybe top of a crown

I was thinking the top of a crown also.

After searching, I soon came to realize that there are hundreds of possibilities of a maker. The crown seems to be a common theme. Without any other wording or symbols, this will be a tough one. Slim chance of a positive ID, but this is Tnet, and anything is possible on here. :D

Good point, I had not searched much further than what I first thought could be a possibility.

--- not much to work with but you gave me the right piece moe ---loin and unicorn mark-- british "royal arms"-- ( tip of lion mane on left side -- tip of unicorn horn on right side --- british made pottery -- with crown in the middle on top of a sheild is my guess) ----- maybe * johnson bros. ironstone - from england is my best guess. --1883 to 1913 * used the royal arms type back mark --this would fit in nicely with the other british queen victoria era type items --you found -- the lock and such -- victoria died in 1901 --- so thinking maybe --- 1883 to 1901 era late 1800's or early early 1900's wreck most likely english -- the good news is english money of that era of any "larger" size was 925 sterling silver and gold was in use too.

Looks like Bramblefind may have pointed you in the right direction, Moe. Check out this design for Ironstone Pottery (J. M. & Sons) from Trenton, NJ. 1863-1890 on page 13. Looks pretty close...

Thanks for all the great replies!

I think Whynot nailed it!

The mark looks very close to the marks of John Moses & Sons Co., from 1863-1895.
