So thought i would go hunt this big sectioned grass area that i know the fair uses for extra parking.? Was maybe out for a few hours and some older kids came over one telling me he had lost his gold earing and if i found it could keep it.? Well lol these are pretty big fields and the earing was a small stud. they passed on and i again went back to swinging.(i will post pics of the place today later on)? Time went on and another kid came out wanted to make sure my holes were being filled back in, come to find out his dad owned the property(dad also detects) after talking to this kid for a bit i found out that back in the day the whole area i was hunting use to be a plantation(still had one of the slave houses in the lot.(place is now a trailer park)? So he left and i moved on to a different part(daylight was going fast) but i started in a small field infront of this older looking building and thats where i found the Fosters plate.? About that time another guy came over and asked if he could help me(inother words what the hell are you doing here lol) told him i wasn't aware of this being pri.prop. and was sorry.? he was ok about it but he wasn't owner he brother was.? So with it getting dark i didn't mind getting kicked off but he said if i wanted to to come back and ask his brother for prim. i could.? Well just as i was getting in my car who pulled in going to his home(brother) so i stoped him and asked if he minded(going back when i finish this) He gave me some history on the site and also told me he was finding arror heads in the area.? Well can't wait to get back out there and heres what i found.? Nothing muct to talk about but am hoping that todays finds will be better.? HH

03-12-05....I don't know how this is going to turn out with me just adding to this post lol o well hope people see its new. So went back out saturday I think i did a bit better as for the older finds. though was hoping for some coin. but with the glass i was digging up and this bottle i am for sure going to go back. Still a few sections i didn't hit so will see. The sorta flat metal looking thing says ZENITH Detroit. Mich. Made in USA US PAT Dec. 29-08. JUNE 27-16 14XF 2885. Think it's a part to a very old TV or maybe a Radio not for sure. The compact says Princess Pat. I found one other like this in PA when i was digging bottles. The white looking thing is a shell? Was burried in same place i dug the bottle. Its amost like its Chalk of sorts. I don't understand though how it survrived its very easly rubbed off. The spoon was a suprise seeing this big silver looking thing sticking out of the side of the whole. Handle says DOHRCO PANAMA SECTIONAL no other marking on it. HH

Hey MM, looks like intersting finds to me. I would much rether find stuff like that instead of clad quarters. GOOD WORK

Re: Grassy parking place for county fair was really.........

The Foster's plate is from a shotgun butt?

Re: Grassy parking place for county fair was really.........

Nice finds, MM Looking forward to the next finds. Who knows, maybe the earr. will show up anyway. HH

Re: Grassy parking place for county fair was really.........

That is the scale warranty plate from a Fosters Spring Balance ( hand scale) if I remember right they were made during the late 1800's.

The reason they had a waranty plate was to certify the scale's weight measurement as being"true".

Nice digs there!

I detect an old carnival gronds that dates back to the mid 1800s and have found lots of good stuff!

Keep swinging that coil, you're bound to find some silver, etc.!

Hey,

I love the finds. I was curious about the items in the second pic. The 2 items you have in the larger images on the right side of the bottom pic. Can you tell us what all the text is on them? They look interesting to me and I thought I might do some research on them if you don't already know what they are.
