Hi Guys:

I cant take credit for the find. My neighbor found while working in Manhatten running conduit under the streets. He has found a treasure trove of finds. I just introduced him to the forum and hope he will soon post with the name ( citydigger). You got to see this stuff!

1892 was a year before the Worlds Columbian Exposition in Chicago.

I wonder IF it is related

there was also an outbreak of Typhoid Fever in Chicago, in 1892.

The Person making it, May not have Survived.

However, How did it get to New York then ?

looks like a handle for something maybe a cane????

hmmm now that you mention it, the mouthpiece of the pipe looks too big to fit in your mouth. maybe it is a cane handle.

"Is it.....a billion dollar pipe?"

Good one! I loved that movie (national treasure)

I would put in a vote for it being a cane handle too.
It seems to make sense espesially being a threaded hole.

I can't wait to see the rest of the stuff.....
