I found this pipe in a creek with a gravel bottom. I had walked by this thing several times and thought it was a pipe fitting or elbow. I walked by it the last time and thought , wonder what this came off of, and picked it up, and then realized it was a smoking pipe. I wonder how old it is , who made it, where it came from ??

Id say its civil war era give or take a few years

Looks a lot like some of the ceramic trade pipes from the mid 1800s.
Nice find.

That's what it is, a clay trade pipe fom the mid 1800's nice find!
