Hi. This is my first post. I have a lot of old (1928-1977 USA) $100.00 bills that I'd like to know if they have any value. I want to sell them but not sure of value - if any. Are there any collectors here (not dealers), that can help me?

I will list a few of them:

1966 $100.00 Note, series A, red seal & serial number A00833690A, Washington DC, Secretary of Treasury signature is ????? M. Kennedy, the first name is hard to read. It looks like it might be Denise??? Treasurer of U.S. is Dorothy Andrews ?????? - can't make out last name - it might be Pelateir ???

The bill is in really good condition.

Also have a 1928 series A $100.00 U.S. Note signed by A.W. Mellon printed in Boston MA

This bill is a little worn but in really good condition.

Also have seven 1934 $100.00
3 are printed in Boston, no series
1 is printed in Chicago, no series
2 are printed in New York, series A
1 is printed in Atlanta, series B

And one -1928 $50.00 Federal Reserve Note, series A, printed in Chicago.

*** I will appreciate any help you can give me.

Thanks, Nanci

PS: Would someone tell me what "Trackback" & "Tags are???

Welcome to TreasureNet !!
Last name in your 1966 note is Elston. It is a United States Note, not to be confused with a Federal Reserve Note which were issued in 1969 with those same names but with green seal.
Your note should have a red seal on the right side. The remaining Treasury stocks of these notes were destroyed in 1996.

Your Woods-Mellon $100 Series 1928-A was a common bill in its day--and of equal value today to any of the 11 other Federal Reserve Banks that issued this bill.
You may wish to check Ebay's "Completed Transactions" for current sales of similar notes.

Yes, most $100 bills printed before 1970 have some value and some have very high value! It depends on a lot of factors such as the Date, where printed, Series, the Treasurer's signature, Secretary's of the Treasury signature, condition and sometimes the Serial Number. I would advise searching eBay's Sold Auction listings for an idea at to the value and also pick up a copy of the "Official Blackbook Guide to United States Paper Money" at a local magazine/book store, a Coin Dealer or off of eBay or Amazon.
