Met up with Dennis and Marinedad yesterday at a local park. Put on the SunRay X-5 five inch DD coil and decided to work the old tree roots. Got a solid 12-13 at 4 inches and out popped a 1911 V-Nickel. I have only had this coil a week and this is my second V-Nick. I then proceeded to another old tree about ten feet away and I got another solid 12-13 at 5 inches. Flipped the plug over and there was a Buffalo nickel. Unfortunately it is a no date but still a Buffalo. This was also my second Buffalo since I bought the coil. The other was a nice looking 1920. About 15 minutes later I decided to work by the park entrance and after a few swings I got a screaming 12-45 at 6 inches. A beautiful 1942 Merc was there just waiting to be rescued. :headbang: Silver #69 for 2012! I cannot believe how this little coil sniffs out the old nickels. E-Tracs with standard stock DD coils are not known for finding nickels. I also got 3 Wheaties. A 1934, a 1929 and a 1929-S. Happy hunting to all! :occasion14:
