Today I dug a permission at a late 1800's house. Soon into the hunt I figured out that someone had cherry picked most of the high tones so I focused on the mid tones. The nickels started popping out one after another. 2 war nickels, 2 1902 V nickels, 1 buffalo nickel, and 2 older Jefferson's, one a 1941, the other 1954. Let me add that none of these were together or any part of a spill. Last but not least, I found a couple of nice high tones. A 1944 merc, and a 1939 S Washington quarter. Best day I've had in a long time!

That is a great day in my world! When I'm digging nickles I don't care about the silver having been cherry picked..... I'm figuring the gold ring may still be there! And two silvers anyway? Nice Brother!

Yeah, I am with Al...old nickels are great to find. My very first V was a 1902. Nice hunt.
