Hey guys,

found this pinhead needle today in a german forest on a meadow - it was pretty deep and actually took me like an hour or so to find, had to dig into very rocky/stony territory for this cute little piece of metal. Judging by other finds I made on that meadow that weren't as deep by far (and especially not under that much stony earth), it should be (way?) older than 1850... Since there isn't much of a patina it's probably not too old?!
It's pretty small, the 1 cent coin I placed in one picture has a diameter of 0,64 inches.

Did you find a haystack, too?

He probably had a pile of dirt and rocks the size of a haystack! Interesting find Raub! Thanks for posting. What is the pin's composition?

I'm not very sure, as not something I have studied but it does look very similar to Tudor pins I find on the Thames Foreshore. Although I guess they didn't change shape much over hundreds of years...

It definitely was quite the stack xD
No idea what's its composition, I'm quite new to detecting and metals... All I know is it's not iron. My Makro racer 2 is basically showing me target ID's from 20 to 98...

Thanks! Found this pic when googling for Tudor pins:

Definitely look similar, and 1600's seems quite plausible... but yeah I also found others that look similar, definitely needs some needle-specialist here I guess. :dontknow:
Would it help if I clean it?

Edit: Actually Tudor really seems to fit:
