Awesome turnaround and profit! :icon_thumright: It's an early 50s collectable, and hard to find. They didn't produce a lot of model cars till the 60s.

Thanks guys...Yea must be a rare one. I really like this garage sale part of the fourm you can learn alot

Awesome, anyone know why it was so valuable?

Nice contribution to the forum. ::)::)::)

High Tone- Nice score! Probably a low production number model. Obviously a rare one to sell for that much.

Dig, I have contributed to this forum and my comment still stands. The OP asked why it was worth so much and I replied.
It is downright stupid to pay that kind of money for a plastic model. I don't care if Thomas Jefferson signed it, it is
outlandish.

There,
I am stepping down now.

Not to start a flame war or anything, but some guy is selling a photo of the iceberg that sunk the titanic, and the article I read said it is expected to go for $10k. I would say 75% of the stuff I sell on ebay goes for "outlandish" prices. I do not fathom why people pay that kind of money for certain items? Hell that guy might turn around and sell that plastic model car to another collector for $800. I am not going to say I am an expert at how other people think, but I try my best to supply them with what they want. To each their own.

:laughing7: Some might say it's downright stupid to search through rolls of coins too, but people do it. What may seem stupid to you may be perfectly normal for someone else.

PS- If Thomas Jefferson had signed it, I would have gladly paid that much for it myself!

It seems that we can all wave the "Politically Correct" flag here but when one of us "scores" ie: Bought something for a buck and then sold it for thousands of bucks.... all well and good.
But to say that someone sold it for cents and then someone bought it for dollars, the word "stupidity" should not be mentioned.
I go with Freedom UIC
