This is an old miner's first aid kit from the Mine Safety Appliances Company. Its the kind that would hang on the wall in a mine. I found it in the local garbage dump when I was a kid, and have had it ever since. I think its from the 1930s or so. There are not dates on any of the paper stuff. Does anybody know more about this?

It's old enough to be made of metal.
These days, you'd never see objects made of materials that can cause a spark - at least not in a coal mine.

Cool find.
Those scissors have seen better days.

Yes, but Arizona (as a State) pre-dates that by a couple years.

Nowadays, plastics are much preferred (if not outright required) in explosive atmospheres, such as you might find in a coal mine.
Although plastics were invented in the very early 1900's, they didn't see widespread use until the 40's and 50's.

This is a picture of the paper inside the lid. There is a "7H06" stamp at the top right.
