Old military button or hat pin ?

This is some kind of military button or hat pin i think not sure any info would help it is about the size of a quarter and it has two swords crossed with a capital D under the swords handles on the back it has a little threaded rod sticking out it also has two spots where it had the little prong things so the thing would not turn.This si my first post im a newbe.
