Found this some years back in an older area of Stuart, Fl that dated to the late 1800s. It's 2-1/2" in diameter, 5/16" tall, is probably made of brass and weighs 16.5 grams. The inside was probably lined with glass or a mirror, as there is still a piece inside of it with possibly the remains of a reflective film. The emblem on the top looks like an 'H' with reversed 'R's on either side. The whole top is cover with fine wavy lines and there is a slight lip around the top to make grasping it easier. Anyone recognize the emblem or have any other ideas what it may be?
Gary

The RH monogram identifies this as a Richard Hudnut compact.

PBK,
Great job with the ID. Did you Google RH compact? After I saw your post I tried matching this RH compact with any examples I could find but was unable to match it. It's a very simple example compared to all the other ones I found. RH founded the company in 1880 and had stores in NY and Paris. I emailed Richard Hudnut's website and sent some of the pictures. Perhaps they will reply.
Thanks again, Gary
