Perhaps, it was found outside a unaccesable ghost town dated 1830 to 1900, in a spot that is littered with round balls and where even a springfield shell was found

Thank you trk5capt... I learned something today! I've been reading about the blue and gold star mothers. I can't say if this is that, but was interesting just the same. :)

Watch fob would be my guess, too. I just hope the .22 caliber hole was made long after the thing was discarded. If not, OUCH!
