Found this back in woods from a river bank. Going to clean it up further , just wanted to share.
This is what I like about treasure hunters. We find a rusty, broken lock and, to us, it’s a good day. If you put the same lock in the grocery store parking lot, NOBODY would care about it. They’d walk around it or throw it in the trash. I’ve got a large tote with bent forks, rusty chains, old door hardware, etc. I’ve kept them for about 50 years. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Keep hunting and keep sharing your finds. I look forward to these finds. Clean it up and see what you can learn about it.

Well said, I have a bin with so many old items in it too. I get excited when I find items I don’t already have
 

old locks are just cool. they are usually simply made and yet have a beauty about them. love em
