So I have not been out in a bit but got a chance and did some dirt fishing lol. I did treat myself to a nox 800 and i must say i have never dug so many square nails, its a real learning curve, I keep wanting to pull out my other detector but I keep forcing myself to try and learn it. Guess I am a creature of habit but hopefully one day it will click. So here are my finds the tag looks like a animal tag but the hole is slotted so I am not sure. The Indian was really a bit chewed up but I will take it. Hope you all stayed cool and enjoyed the weather. The half dollar is to show size didnt find it. The lock was deep and I am kind of scared to try to clean it but may try soon. finds (2).jpg finds (7).jpgfinds (1).jpgfinds (3).jpgfinds (4).jpgfinds (5).jpgfinds (6).jpg

Looks good, I like the 1866 IH cent

Nice finds! I kinda like the way the padlock looks, all crusty! :icon_thumleft:

Congrats on some nice finds. I like that tag. It could possibly be an employee check tag (time card) that they hung on a nail or pegboard when they arrived for work. When they left, they took it down. Miners used those back in the day, and thats how the company knew who was in the mine in case of disaster. Like you said, it could be a farm animal tag, but those usually had a round hole at the top.

Awesome hunt.Nice IHP.Congrats :icon_thumright:

Congratualtions on the nice find! :occasion14:

Nice hunt. An Indian, Merc, war nickel, and padlock with a #41 tag. Nice.
