Found this today at an old homestead site. Solid brass and quite heavy.

It appears to be a vintage padlock. top broken

I searched Google and found a similar one on: Square Solid Brass Lock with Working Key. Not the same but you will see why we think it is a padlock...

Wonder why there is a flat headed screw in the keyhole? Might be something else if that screw is supposed to be there.
