Old Knife with an Inscription

I found this bone-handle knife today. It has an inscription on the blade written in a language I cannot decipher. Any ideas?

I'm not sure but it looks like some form of middle eastern writing:

Could be Hebrew, the engraving looks like the outline of Israel to me.

Using what Chingascook found (good job!) I note these as being described as a souvenir from the early 1960's, with many having the date on them: crete knife inscribed blade - Google Search

I read and write Arabic and this is definitely not Arabic. It's written in Greek handwriting script. E.g., first word last line = ρια.
