Found these in my yard, a working farm from the early 1800's to mid 1900's. Still trying to get the iron out! 12 14 019.jpg12 14 020.jpg12 14 021.jpg
 

I don't know, but I found that same thing in the 1st pic lower right in a farm field, only the stem on mine is broken and shorter compared to yours.

That iron on the right side of the dollar is called a pig tail. It's from a single tree.

Here's a picture. Could also be off a neck yoke, or off a whiffle tree, as in, "The old grey mare, she oomped on the whiffle tree." The top item looks like it's from the same sorce, only it's black smith or farmer made. Pretty neat. Here's a picture to show what we are talking about.
