Old intricate pin or broach. Copper, and need help with a date.

I found this a few days ago but just pulled it from my bag. I don't know how to figure a date on these things, by it was 6"down which is pay dirt on this location, generally. (In the immediate area, mid-1800's items were found, FYI). It looks stamped but any info or insight is appreciated.

No makers mark so I'm stumped. I know it's not super old but it ain't new, either.

Interesting. Celtic knot cross brooch? Victorian... mid to late?

It almost looks like a Chinese kanji character underneath the cross.

Cool piece.
