Old Indian Head Pin

Hello, found this under an old porch. Looks like a lapel pin or cuff link. No makers marks anywhere. It is made of metal and is about the size of a dime. Thought he looked like an old ad or sports logo but cannot match him up with Pontiac cars, Indian motorcycles, various baseball teams, cigars, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum ~ I consider 35 post as "new."

This is a total shot in the dark, but here goes anyway. Using stefen's suggestion about tobacco Indians, I came up with the following. But please note, what led me to this was not so much a resemblence between the two Indians, which is only minor, but rather to the location of the company. Your profile says you are from the "The Burgh." But which burgh, I don't know. If it's "Lynchburg, Va." then maybe this is your guy. But if some other burgh, like Pittsburgh, then I throw in the towel and don't have a clue. There are so many Indian variations, it's mind boggling. But your item does look more like a "lapel pin" to me than anything else. Most cufflinks have those bend-over things. And most Indian images I saw had more feathers than hair. Your guy has more hair than feathers.

(But all things considered, I believe if it was an advertising piece, it would be marked).

Is there any type of search engine for images?

If not, that could be a lucrative proposition for anyone with computer skills.......

Like a google type search, but instead of words, you would "plug in" an image and a search would result...

Any chance it's from IORM TOTE... Improved Order of Redmen, Totem of the Eagle? Their emblem is an Indian brave with headdress.
