I was driving through a city north of Toronto on Friday and noticed this old farmhouse sitting empty on a major highway. It was raining out, so I asked a couple of locals "why this house had been vacant for such a long time". I was told, "the house was scheduled to be moved to make way for a housing development". I decided that it was now or never for this place, so I came back this morning. I could tell the sites topography had likely undergone a number of changes to the over the years, but figured it was worth a shot!
My first find of interest was the large broken bronze crotal bell; this bell must've been the size of a softball! My next find was the pocket watch body. This was followed by the bronze circular piece with what I think is a finger ring for a mug or a candle-stand.
I've decided that I'll make this piece my next 'restoration project'. I'll grind down the broken sections and have the initial of my last name 'K' 'scripted' into the thumb plate. I'll post a picture of how the 'bronze ring' looks when it's finished! And yes, the Caterpillar Bulldozer is made by Lesney!
Best of luck to you all,
Dave
