R,

looks like you had a workout digging those artifacts.

Looks like an interesting location in your photos.

have a good un..............

Neat looking place. Good finds. How hard was it to work the area? What size of coil did you use?

As I am new to this forum, perhaps my question has already been asked/answered. In working this site, did you check under the hearthstone of the fireplace? I read that it was traditional to place a coin under it during construction, to bring the owner good luck. If particularly good fortune was desired, a gold coin was used. Makes me wonder every time I see an old site with the chimney (or part of it) standing. My cousin relocated an old cabin once, and found some interesting artifacts and coins wedged into the cracks, as he removed the chimney stones.

Great site, looks like it has a lot of potential! HH, Mike

Looks like you found a stove top...wheres the rest of it? Keep digging...looks like a great spot...got any history on the place???

I think I'd try using a probe down hill from there, to find the trash and bottle dump. Maybe several of them in the area.
Dano.

Whats written on the signboard that is nailed to the tree in picture 2?

Hey guys,
Sorry I haven't responded before now. I hurt my back at work and have not wanted to look and see what I/ve been missing. to answer some questions. Yes it was difficult working this area, nails are everywhere and pinpointing is difficult. I plan on using a magnet if I can get my back well enogh to go back. The coil is the standard 6x9. I want to get the 4" but don't have the funds right now. There is no posting on the tree. Must be some issue with my camera. There are more home sights (only chimneys and wind rows remain) that I plan on hitting as soon as my back get's better. Merry Christmas to all.
