i lived in santa clara for a few years and did some detecting along the feather river. there used to be a light rail that ran along the river. the hotel was only afew feet from the rail bed. i think i was there in 1987 or 1988 and i stayed in a hotel on the south side of the river and it was pretty old.
i believe it was red in color and there was another stream running by it and running into the feather river. the old foundation was also on the south side of the river nearby. i hope this helps
