I enjoy looking at everyone's finds. I got into this hobby when I was 15 and that was 20 years ago. With two kids and being very busy it is hard to make time to hunt. Now the kids are older and showing intrest in the hobby, gives me a good reason to go. I got permission to hunt an old homesite that is about 5 miles up the road from my house. Here are some of the best finds after a couple of times looking around. The site is very trashy and hard to hunt. I am teaching our 13 year old son the hobby and he made a great find with the broken spur. Info on the net shows it to be a Federal Officer's Spur. The oldest coins so far is a 1900 Barber Dime, a 1909 and 1934 Wheat Penny a 1945 Mercury Dime and 4 other Wheat Cents from the 40's & 50's. The Sales Tax Token is from Mississippi. I don't know if the slate point is an actual Indian Artifact or not? We had a fun time. My 8 year old girl was the photographer and journalist of our finds.
Thanks for looking, David, Cole and Katelyn.
