old home site

hey guys and gals!! i went this morning to the old pond and didnt find much but i was cold it was snowing. i did locate what i think was part of a old home site. there was lots of old brick then i found some pottery when digging a signal and found this piece of pottery with a old looking three on it . need to go back with a shovel and piece it together. willy.

that piece is about 3 inches long so i think its from a old crock pot theres more there going to try to piece together. willy. whats UHL stand for? i could see it being three gallons.
 

Nice find willy! Piece of an old crock is what i think it is. is the other side a tan color? The number 3 looks familiar. Very old piece for sure...

UHL pottery is very collectible....and depending on the piece very valuable. It was made in huntingburgh and evansville, indiana for many years. I would say that is a good chance of what it is. It could be another pottery...but UHL is the most collectible. Let me know if you find more of it and what you can piece together. Of course broken its not worth anything....but its still cool!
