Old holding tank?

Was out detecting the south 40 and came upon this. It is located within 7 feet from a stream.Looks like it used to have a wooden top or bottom? There was some corrugated galvanized tin near by but not much else. Maybe part of a still?

Water tank for livestock. Its upside down with the bottom missing. I could be wrong tho.
