My sister in law owns the property where Gen. James Longstreet was born. My research shows that he was born on his grandparents property which at the time was a 800 acre cotton plantation.
I found an old hoe head about 25 yards from the big granite marker commemorating his birthplace.
I was hoping someone could tell me if it appears to be of that time period. It appears to me that it might have been handmade by a blacksmith.
