This measures 2.25 inches without the head. It's pretty heavy, and my buddy says its lead and he thinks its from The Revolutionary period but I have my doubts. Thanks!

Darn. After all that time looking for something similar I was hoping the first complaint would be the legs!

Hard to tell, but you can date the soldier and kinda assume that (1) He is a marching officer, due to the sword, (2) bloused trousers with round toed boots put him around 1900-1940's, (3) without the head and head gear, or specific type of rifle, there is no way of knowing what country he represented. It appears to have been 54 mm in height when complete? If so, most European toy soldiers were that height. Most American made soldiers prior to the mid 1930's were also that height. If you find the head, the mystery may be solvable. Sub 8-)

The soldier figurine found by thedukeofdelaware is wearing shoulder epaulettes, and the Ebay figurine isn't. Also, the Ebay figurine has a blanketroll atop his backpack, and thedukeofdelaware's figurine doesn't. Nonetheless, thanks are due to Deftone for his efforts at finding a failrly close soldier figurine.

By the way I think the presence of shoulder epaulettes is more indicative of a 1700s/1800s soldier than a 20th Century soldier. That of course doesn't mean the figurine was made in the 1700s/1800s... just that it is a uniform from that time-period.

Thank you Deftone, Subterranean & TheCannonballGuy for your help. Every now and then, I'm ok with letting some things remain mysterious!

I found it in a park that peaked in popularity in the early 20th century, but, before that, was near a Continental Army encampment...who knows!

Did your head grow legs and travel hundreds of miles, or did my body walk blindly away from its head???
