old hammerheads

found hammerheads in same location as dime any info on hammers

My dad has hammer heads that look like that. They were his dad's. I guessing that they are late 1940's to early 1950's. That's my best guess.

The small one looks like a tack hammer. The second looks like an upholsterers hammer, same purpose, just different size tacks. Monty

thanks for the help i was hoping they were older
the site i found them on nobody remembers a house

being there but i found a 1823 dime and a big penny
so i cant complain

Fort Boy ~~ Thanks for the clarification there. I was going to say I've seen LOTS of hammerheads, but I've never seen one with a dime embedded in it! ;)

My friend with the 2 hammers. These are very old hammers and I would guess around the early 1800 to the middle 1800.
They need to be cleaned up and then look for a name of a date.
The handle hole is off so this tells me they are not from the 40' or 50's.

Fort bpy, I agree with Peg leg. You have hammerheads dating from the early 1800's. I would go back to that location for some more hunting.
Even people who had "nothing" lost " something". It's that "some-
