The canal area of middletown ohio has alot of history behind it.While hunting very near this canal with my whites 6000 series two detector I found this old womans silver pin.I can not tell how deep it was because bull dozers plowed it up at a construction site.I seem to make good finds at these construction sites.Any help on age or ID would be appreciated. Thanks and good luck hunting when it gets warmer. On the back the pin is broke off and it says germ silver.

I've got good news for you, and I have bad news.
Good news, I've found out what your pin is made of.
Bad news, if it does say GERMAN SILVER, then it contains no silver. A dictionary had this "Another name for nickel silver. A composition of nickel, copper and zinc, it contains no silver." Sorry about that, nice find anyway!! :D
