I Subscribers,
I found an old steel fusil and would apreciate any information about age and nationality of this fusil.
The fusil was found over the bottom after a long (?) period under salt water and any remain of wood was lost.
The steel mecanism and tube are about one meter long. The firing mecanism include an open hole to insert the bullet inside the top, and the finger protector/actuator in the down side.
I atach two pictures of the mecanism.
I will apreciate any information concerning the age and country where it came from.
(I know that the bullets was used after about 1825)

Thank you,

Hi,

To me it looks like a Peabody-Martini of around 1870-1899 ? I'm not sure of any date, but the Brits used them in the openers of the Boer War.
