Old Ford parts

Several weeks back, I had come upon some old auto parts, perhaps from an early 1900’s Maxwell? Returning back to the site, I found these two parts, imprinted with Ford. Interesting thing is they are both pliable, perhaps made of lead, which would seem to be unusual if being an automobile part?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Looks like part of a battery.

Have never seen parts like this before. Of what decade might they have been relevant?

Thanks to your suggestions about the Ford parts being from a battery, I was able to ID an online picture showing the parts in better detail and they are indeed from a battery. Many thanks...
