I found this one and it has two different colors. Looks like it was reworked give me your thoughts?

I found it 3 or 4 years ago . I’ve been looking at some of my old finds and I was curious about this one . It’s two different patina colors has me curious of what it was before it was reworked.

I think I see the flake specific difference in patina that you are questioning, and can see no other reason for it other than what I think you are suggesting. It looks like a point or tool that was made, and then at least hundreds, if not thousands of years later the artifact was re-worked and shaped into what we see now. Some of the previous surface of the point can still be seen in the darker or browner areas.
I have a few tools and points with the same situation, and had been thinking about bringing this topic up myself to see what everyone else thinks about it.

I would think that the point now is probably an early archaic Kirk type, which makes me suspect the original form must have been really early archaic, or paleo??

Thank you that was exactly what I was thinking. I wish I would have found it first haha. It’s kinda cool to be the second man to find it !!!

And it also shows the the difference in patina from the different time periods . I had also found half of a cobbs blade in same spot all grey in patina

Nice,

What state was this found in? Is it a field find, overhang or what?

Middle Tennessee in an overhang .
