Old find 1878 ish brass . It was used to hold the handle on a hand saw

So i was out at a local soccer field in back of a school in my town. I have found a silcer ring here one silcer canadian and a bunch o f wheties .. and then this popped out today i thought it was junk but it was made of brass and had some writing on it and a multese cross so i figured i would research it .. i never imagined it to be this rare or this old

It looks like your ring is the 3rd one down. Even older than the second. Nice find! Gary

Hi, nice find, congrats I found one in the beginning of the year with a kangaroo image, not as old as yours and first thought i found a wax seal. After research it turned out to be part of a hand saw handle.

Its a grat spot and so much ground to cover here there is lime 8 soccer fields .. i can only imagine what is still there . I will keeo everyone posted
