Hunted a couple older farmhouse locations with my buddy FatTony315. The first one we hunted was definitely hunted before. We were only able to find modern coins/trash with a couple wheaties mixed in. The only thing worth mentioning that I found at the site was a piece of what appears to be a counterfeit coin made of pewter. Not a lot to see but you can tell it used to be round and you can barely make out what appears to be the letters "TED" in the upper left portion of the coin. Tell me what you think.

After that site we went to a site we've been to before. Found a couple more wheats, a small box that appears to be a compact/makeup case, and a small crotal bell.

Today's hunt was another older farmhouse site.

I think this site may have been hunted before as well. Only 1 silver for the day, a 1953 D Washington quarter.

I found two tokens in the side yard. One was an Abraham Lincoln Shell oil token and the other was an antique car token. Strangely...my buddy found the exact same Lincoln token a couple hundred feet away on the other side of the yard.

Finds from the last few hunts.

Thanks for looking and happy hunting.

looks like your mystery coin in the top pics could maybe have been a flying eagle cent at one time

You made me realize that I didn't include a size comparison picture. Here's a wheat cent for comparison. 025.JPG

Looks like a good day to me. I love finding tokens.
So is "ted" part of United"? :icon_scratch:
Thanks for the post Evo,

I think it is... still trying to figure out what coin it was that was counterfeited. I suppose its possible that it was a flying eagle cent like Jewelerguy said above. I just can't imagine anyone counterfeiting a flying eagle cent.

Nice score ..

My initial thought was a rotten, crusty zinc penny.

I thought it may be a flying eagle because it appears that around the rim I can see what looks like the latter part of 'united' and the first part of 'states'. the only coin I can think of that has the legend in the same area as that is a flying eagle. pull up a picture of one and compare. yea, it is doubtful that anyone would counterfeit one. however, I was thinking if it was a flying eagle, it could be extreme fire damage

Always nice to find silver even if it's just a dime: you got a quarter!:icon_thumright:
