Got permission to metal detect on my neighbors property I know there was a massive farm house there in the 1920s and maybe even later than that. After a slow and steady search came up with some cool stuff. Lots of cool farm related iron items and a item that even has a leather piece with a rivet still intact but very fragile. A few Canadian coins one silver came up for some reason. Then an awesome child's belt buckle. Also a 1949 aluminum license plate tag. Took a lot of work as the ground is filled with iron scrap lots of listening carefully and going super slow. mir_20210219_180248.jpgmir_20210219_180300.jpgmir_20210219_180318.jpgmir_20210219_180338.jpgmir_20210219_180144.jpgmir_20210219_180228.jpg20210219_175903.jpg20210219_175929.jpg20210219_175946.jpg

Very nice finds! Like the George VI farthing and dime.

Funny thing is this is in California. I found zero USA coins and found 2 Canadian coins. Both in completely different spots.

Great hunt! Sounds like an area that a gold coin might turn up. Lots of travelers from afar. Good luck!

the Moose Lodge is still alive and well.
Might be an adults' buckle. Or you may be right about it being a youth. Though I've not seen such ,yet.

Congrats on your recoveries!

It's really small so I figured a child's but I could be wrong. Never heard of the Moose Lodge though we have an Elks Lodge here

Also correction not 2 Canadian coins. The silver is Canadian the other is British I think

Nice hunt and recoveries. Always nice getting a silver from a site also. Being that you saw the head of George Vl on the coin I can see where you thought were both from Canada. I'm not sure if I have ever found a Farthing on this side of the pond-but have found lots of dimes.
Looked for a similar Moose Lodge buckle on the net and found zip-so you have found something out of the norm-as the coinage-so it was in fact a cool hunt in my books.Congrats

Love that moose

Yeah that was my last find for the day. I didn't realize it was a lodge buckle and it appears to be a older one so that made it even more neat to me. I may take it to one of the lodges near me and see what they think. My step dad was a member of the elks and they seem to like to preserve their history when it comes to that lodge so maybe the same for the moose lodge.

My grandparents were Moose lodge members, I spent a lot of time there as a kid drinking shirley temple's :laughing7:

Wish I had fond memories of the Elks lodge when I did volunteer work for one I was treated with disrespect and some member of the particular chapter where complete jerks. Left me sour to the Elks to this day lol

Found two more okay things today hunting the site nothing worth making a new post over. A intact tootisetoy car, and a cool little Mickey Mouse zipper pull. mir_20210220_184141.jpgmir_20210220_184334.jpgmir_20210220_184346.jpgmir_20210220_184410.jpg

That can't be fun. Here the problem is in the summer it gets way too hot and where I live the ground can dry out and be way too hard and not easy to dig in.
