Is that a saw blade second pic?

I cant tell if it turns like a wheel? :icon_scratch: Was it a complete wheel at one time? Im thinking parts of a portable blacksmiths forge.

Yeah thats a saw blade and an old cow waterer? pictured with "it". The piece in the middle looks like it swivels, and the bar across moves. I'm not sure what you mean by complete wheel? I'd be happy with blacksmith forge. Thanks for the idea!

I think we can rule out the blacksmiths forge. Forget I said it. All the pics Im looking at have a different style wheel.

I didnt know what a fifth wheel was as pertaining to an old wagon, so I googled it.

The fifth wheel of a wagon is the circular piece of iron lying in a horizontal plane above the center of the forward axle and which permits that axle to be swiveled to the right or left in turning. June 2, 1910 NY Times.

Sounds good to me. ;D

I think the round looking thing with the three holes in it is an old implement seat. Was attached to a leaf spring on the front to provide some bounce and the holes were to drain water off when it rained? Monty

I agree. Looks like a seat. Good hunt Country Girl. I like hunting around old silo's. You will need to walk every inch of that field or fields. I have found that there can be many old houses close to those silos. mostly to the edge of the fields. Be careful, there could be a well at all the old houses.

I'm not 100% sure on it being a cow/horse waterer, so you could be right Monty. They tell me that the large animal uses their nose to push down on it and release the water. Here is a better picture for you. Thanks for the help!

Sis, You got it! What fun would it have been to leave it there?

Mojjax, That's the word I was looking for "pressure plate". Thanks so much for the help.

Crusader, If I had gotten stuck in the mud I drove through I would of HAD to ride it home. :D

P.S. Monty, forgot how small that pressure plate was, be an awful small behind to sit in it.

It's CLAY. Clay equipment corp, formerly Iowa gate company. They were a distributor for milking and parlor stalls and accessories out of Cedar Falls Iowa. The factory is now the location for Gateway park in Iowa. :)
