Started searching the first of 3 old house sites on a friend's farm this weekend. When they bought the farm in the late 50s, there was still a visible cabin foundation in the area I was hunting Saturday. I was only there for around an hour, as the rain and wind were pretty cold. I found a decent sized pile of junk iron, and this axe head. I'm going to clean it up using electrolysis this week. I plan on thoroughly hitting all three old house/cabin sites as I have exclusive rights. The barn on the property was built in 1890 and still stands/ is in use.

Also spent around 4 hours today doing the first sweep of some old house sites in a local town that is more or less dying. The town was built in a flood zone, no new houses have been built in probably half a century, and those that are still standing are either abandoned or being torn down. I've received permission from several landowners to hunt many of these sites, totaling well over several acres. First sweep produced modern clad coins, an old Ball jar lid, toy car parts, a condenser cover for a small motor (Briggs & Stratton), many plumbing fittings, and a large pile of misc metal pieces. I plan to hit the same area that I detected today next time I go back, to hopefully find more deeper targets since all of this junk is out of the way.

Between the two places that I detected this weekend, it could take a long time to cover all of this area!
