Hi all! I've been having a hard time trying to date / authenticate this old sign I picked up recently, and since this is the largest treasure site on the net I figured I'd take a shot.
The sign is associated with the old Tetley Brewery that was based in Leeds.. They have since been swallowed by Carlsberg. I've already contacted the brewery, and their antiquities dept. said if it was in fact authentic that it would put the date around the 1830's.
Does anyone here have any input on who or how to have the paint analyzed? From what I have gathered, dating the wood may be fairly invasive. Sorry for the photo quality, I'll have new ones soon.
TIA,
Chris
