Thanks for the info. the site is likely between 1750-1800s so that makes sense. Hoping to find out about the marks some day.

I believe that it would have originally been silver plated with the "Old Sheffield" plating common in the timeframe mentioned. It didn't weather terribly well even inside, and thus has all come off.
