I found this in a river at an old beach. It is copper and engraved on the inside top with Kory Cosmetics, New York Distributor, Made in USA, Pat Pending. It doesn't clean up well and may have been plated. I pulled coins back to 1910 near it. There is one tiny hole in one end which appears to be intentional. Anybody know what this is and how old it might be?

I think it was for perfume - "Kory Perfume Pen". Here's another:

Kory Perfume Pen & Parisienne Jeweled Compact, Unused. (08/05/2010)

This is a lot of 2 old cosmetic items which I think are from the 1950s or 1960s. One is a rhinestone Jeweled Compact which has never been used and has all the jewels on it. It measures 2 3/4" across x 1/2" high. It is in a plastic and cloth pouch inside the box, the box is marked "Parisienne". It has a paper peel off label on the bottom ( which was never removed) marked "Trickettes by Wiesner of Miami". The other item is a Perfume Pen made by Kory in the original box with a pouch to keep it in. The item is unused but has some oxidation spots on the brass tube and cap. It still has the Guarantee paper with it and has a label on the side of the pen which says "Legend" on it, that is the fragrance. It measures 2 7/8" long when closed and is 1/2" wide. USA sale only.

That is it exactly. The inside is all gone with only a greenish residue left which I took to be eye liner or something. I spent a lot of time on line looking at old cosmetics cases and I didn't come up with this, so thanks for posting it. The mystery is solved. I would have guessed it to be older, but it still looks pretty good for 40 years in brackish water.
